g it yourself! and perhaps some creative extensions.i recently created a handmade photography book with japanese stab binding. the photographs were transferred onto clear contact paper, then glued onto rives bfk.
this book is autobiographical; it documents various aspects of my life. making this book opened me up to a different creative methodology. each photo has a caption (caption here says "mama"). however, i
didn't give the captions as much thought as i would have liked to; all of the words didn't have the same weight/significance. in the future, i would like to have more text accompany my photos. i want to create more books! books are a good medium for me to showcase my photography and writing side by side.
from 2005-07, i worked with a friend to produce a lit mag called crescendo. the books weren't handmade, but we created the designs ourselves and encouraged people to send us their writing and art. the 06 edition was in b&w, but the 07 edition was in color! it was very exciting.
my current diy publishing endeavors include creating a bfaw literary arts mag with our fellow classmate wendy. it's called MOUTH. here's the logo:

hopefully you will see this logo around school pretty soon. everyone should submit! to saicmouth@gmail.com
have a happy day
